Welcome back for another Six Sentence Sunday post! Right now I'm focusing on the Warriors of the Elector Series. First released in 2011, the entire series was reworked and re-released in 2016. Snippet: “No, Raven. What she needs now is rest, and honestly, I don’t think you’re currently in the right frame of mind to see her. Give me a couple of hours—” “No. I need to see her now.” His voice was like shards of ice, and he attempted once more to push forward. Blurb: Jemma Cardnew is hardnosed and bitter. Even worse, she is brittle. No way does she want anything to do with the Elector and it’s crew…including the gorgeous Raven, who intrigues her. Raven Fraser, engineer also has his problems. First, the Matrix is damaged leaving the Elector dangerously unprotected. The woman of his dreams is avoiding him and any possibility of a future together. Topping it all off Crick Sur Banden continues to be a thorn in the side of the Empire. Jemma has orders to protect the Elector and those it carries, Raven has his as well, get the systems back online. Can passion and possibly forever bloom on the eve of the greatest war that humanity will ever face against a foe with no fear? Buy Links: |

In case you've missed my Instagram photos, Facebook photos or any other, let me just point out, these renovations have been happening since the end of May. The kitchen. One of the most important rooms in a house. A selling point, if you will. Ours was cruddy. Dirty. Grotty. Unusable. Our oven was the first thing we got rid of. I limped along with it for nearly 18 months but replaced if before Christmas last year. The old one was so old, there were no books in the manufacturer's archives. (Honest! I emailed them to check!!) In May we stripped out the kitchen itself. Thankfully, with the use of my u-beaut slow cooker we had some 70+ meals in the freezer! So we didn't have to eat out at all during the works. The installation of the new kitchen was completed by the end of the first week of June. We’d been planning it since September 2019 but had planned for the end of 2020 for it. Except when the COVID pandemic struck we moved it forward to help our kitchen company keep their staff employed at a time when everyone was cancelling work. It was really one week of real discomfort and pain, but worth it all. By the Friday, the kitchen was installed and we were ready to do the floors. Except we had no experience with laying floating floors. Can you say absolute beginners? What an improvement but there was still more work to do. The floors needed to be replaced. There was vinyl on both sides and it still looked grungy. Until a little help from a friend! (Well actually a lot!!) When the original kitchen only quote came in at $24000 we nearly died. In the end, with everything added in, we’ll have done it all (including floors and whitegoods) for in the region of $19000
It’s a figure that hurts, but not one cent was on credit and we’ve brought it in totally under budget! Of course, next year is the bathrooms. Let’s see how we can do them.
