On the weekend, I'm attending the Romance Writers of New Zealand conference. Something I enjoy immensely, get a lot of latest information on the publishing world and an opportunity to network, which is an important facet of my role as author and In The Chair presenter. Sadly this year, Mr Nix isn't attending with my. However my gorgeous friend Tracey will travel with me.
This year I look forward to hearing from Damon Suede, Geoff Symon, Bella Andre & Grace Burrowes and I know I'll gain a lot of industry knowledge from these authors. Last year I was hanging out with Kristen Lamb and Christie Craig (both awesome ladies and I gained a lot of insight from them.)
The intimacy of the conference means I have time to catch up with people, enjoy the company of those I know and meet new authors. You can't beat that!
I have to say, given the caliber of the speakers, and the opportunities this conference opens to me as a hybrid author, it's the best learning opportunity for romance authors in the Southern Hemisphere. (That's a hint! If you're looking to upskill this is the conference to attend!)
If you've missed out this year, but would like to take a look at the conference offerings, look no further than this page.
So while I'm away, I thought I'd leave you all with pics from previous conferences. Oh and by the way there will be new pics of Keri Arthur and myself... so do stay tuned :D
