I just thought I'd pop up here a quickie reminder that NaNoWriMo is just around the corner! Starting on 1 November and running until 1 December, each day it's an opportunity to write 1667 words a day, meaning at the end you'll have 50 000 words written. That's a starter novel figure!
Who can participate? Anyone with a little bit of drive and willing to commit.
What do I get for completing? Lots! Most participants make lifelong writing friends, (I have an awesome Nano Sprint Group who push me to complete multiple novels a year!), the benefit of others writing and who understand the complexities of the craft, access to other knowledgable wordsmiths, and by the end the satisfaction of writing "The End" in one month. How can that be a losing outcome?
What do I need to do? Go to www.nanowrimo.org and sign up (and if you're near me, remember to choose Australia, Burnett as your region!) Then commit to write 1667 words a day.
So go on, sign up and get those writing fingers warmed up!
