Back in 2018 I finally saw the release of Miss Elspeth's Desire. It was more than just a bet I'd placed against myself. It was a vindication that my research of historical facts could stand up to scrutiny.
I personally find the mid to late victorian era quite interesting and it allowed me to write this story. I love the historical facts, the societal norms of the time... (I'm not getting into the rights or wrongs of them, just the fact that they existed.)

Isabelle had already found a group of young women who engaged her in conversation, and she waved them on with a searching look at Elspeth.

“Major, should we be dancing this? I’m not sure...”
